mia cucina

It has been 16 months, two weeks, and approximately two days that I have been living with a kitchen I do not love.  Well actually, I really resent it. I resent the colour. I resent the lack of storage. I resent the handles, lighting and small cooktop.  But it's O.K...  The kitchen is soon to redeem itself as I work on a new, low budget way to make it the heart of our home I believe all kitchens are.  Coming from a background where eating and cooking delicious food is a dominating part of life, I desperately need to have this impractical and irritating situation sorted.

I have perused my favourite blogs for inspiration and am now buzzing with ideas...

I really love this bold yellow and white cabinetry colour combo http://emmas.blogg.se/

Exposed shelving and mammoth fridge, mammoth print...

Three beautful elements - Black cabinets, colourful furniture

A practical Island which combines bar seating with storage http://www.elledecor.com/decorating

I can not go past this big dark block of an Island...http://www.elledecor.com/decorating

So clean and white and lovely, I really like these stools and the bright yellow wall with just the right amount of
 shiny stainless steele http://www.elledecor.com/decorating

I'm feeling a recurring theme here; clean modern lines with a shot of colour and maybe a bold, strong dark Island...
